Christmas Gig!

We’re playing at the Milkmaid in Bury St Edmunds on December 21st.  Looking forward to doing a few Christmas numbers!

Bushes & Briars – our debut CD!

Our debut CD is finally on the market!!! It’s called Bushes & Briars and is available for a tenner to anyone who wants a copy!!! 

That Martin Carthy/Dave Swarbrick Gig…

Well!!!  Biggest act we’ve supported so far at the Milkmaid, and we were GREAT!!! Must’ve been all the extra practices…   Our CDs were ready just in time for the gig too, so that was a real bonus!!

Milkmaid Showcase in July

We had a great night at Ely Folk Club on 16th of May. Dan McKinnon is a great songwriter and storyteller.

Our showcase at the Milkmaid in Bury St. Edmunds will be on 20th July. Hope to see some of you there…

Final Rock Lobster Session

We’re going back to the studio again on June 10th for what we hope will be the final recording session for our first studio album (working title: Simple Folk).  It’s been a real learning experience for us, not to mention pretty interesting to hear ourselves properly for the first time….

Sound Tradition Showcase

Terry at the Milkmaid Folk Club has very kindly agreed to showcase Sound Tradition  at one of the open-mic nights at the club in July.  More details to follow!

Upcoming Ely gig

We’re supporting Dan McKinnon at Ely Folk Club in the Lamb Hotel on 16th May.  This’ll be our first time doing a support act there, so we’re really looking forward to it!

Back at the Rock Lobster

What a great name for a recording studio!  We had a productive second session in the studio, despite a shaky start (lots of sore throats and croaky voices…).  It’s interesting hearing what we actually sound like!  Another session coming up in a couple of months’ time to get things finished off and get that CD out on the market!!!

The Rock Lobster Sessions

Our latest project is getting our first studio CD recorded.  We’ve been working with Rock Lobster Studios in Southwold, and they’ve been great so far.  We’ve got seven songs recorded; now we’re heading into the studio again on February 18th to finish it off.  This is the easy bit!  Then we have to organise cover artwork, distribution, etc. etc.
